Brain Dump Re: Bear Canyon + Hahn Arroyos

Visitor + Willing Participant

(Bear Canyon Arroyo + Open Space)
JK: It’s not..quite the Grand Canyon but it is a baby, mini-size, one. One day perhaps, it will also be just as deep and big. But for now, just a beautiful…very vast space inclosed within a wall of houses from the upper hills. Very blue skies - makes the mountain in the distance even more blue.

Not much clouds. Only small, very cute sheep…of clouds. No low land? Close to the land?

It is devoid of all life…except for a lot of…Apache Plumes…very dry. Lots of dust. Not enough to make it hard to breathe, but in the distance it is very noticeable.

(Hahn Arroyo near Sandia High School)
JK: We are currently on the Hahn Arroyo. It’s considerably a lot more…trashed and littered compared to the Bear Canyon we were at earlier. The concrete has more weathering and cracks. Uh…but there is a built-in bike trail, or what looks like a biker and walking trail to one side of the arroyo. Uh, and on both sides there are a lot of fences - concrete and wood - to divide the arroyo from the residential houses and the Sandia High School. And I am assuming because it’s next to the main roads, that’s why a lot of trash ends up here. And…it seems like not many people come up here, though. Maybe the occasional person hanging out, looking for solitude. Very quiet neighborhood, outside of the rush of cars.
